 Job Description 


  • Performs all duties necessary for proper racetrack maintenance in absence of Track Superintendent during live racing, training, and the maintenance of the racing surfaces during off months, including snow removal in the winter.
  • Assists with interviewing, supervising, scheduling, evaluations and training of all track staff.
  • Documents and issues disciplinary actions.
  • Performs all aspects of track maintenance on racetrack and must possess knowledge of track maintenance equipment (e.g., water trucks harrow, floats, tractors, horse ambulance, etc.).
  • Responsible to be knowledgeable with all machinery and equipment necessary to perform track f maintenance.
  • Responsible to develop and work within constraints of approved budget.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
  • Promotes outstanding customer relations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



  • Five (5) years’ experience with Dirt Tracks.
  • Minimum One (1) year management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. repeatedly, stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in extremes of weather and remain flexible in an environment of constant change. 
  • Experience renewing and restoring track surfaces under traffic.
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment (tractor, water truck, dump truck, skid steer, manual truck). 
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain the background check and licensing process, required by the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission during employment.
